Another great day of baking in the kitchen! A good friend of mine is celebrating her birthday today. I offered to make her favorite cupcake: pumpkin. It is not in season right now, but she like me, loves pumpkin confections no matter what time of year it is. I wanted to be adventurous and mix it up a bit by adding some chocolate chips to some of the batter. Thanks Blanca for the idea! The frosting is definitely one of my favorites out of all the ones I have whipped up. I went with a brown sugar cinnamon buttercream. The frosting has a sweet, savory taste that pairs well with this pumpkin treat. Denise, I hope you enjoy them! Happy Birthday!
